Laser Crystals can convert the energy provided by the outside world into a crystal material with highly parallel and monochromatic laser coherent in space and time through an optical resonator. It is the working material of a crystal laser.

The laser crystal consists of two parts: luminous center and matrix crystal. The luminescence centers of most laser crystals are composed of activated ions, which partially replace the cations in the matrix crystals to form doped laser crystals. When the activated ion becomes a part of the matrix crystal component, it constitutes a self-activated laser crystal.
